About Us
Our Mission
The Social Blueprint Challenge
DartUP is a program of the Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship at Dartmouth.
We are dedicated to fostering social entrepreneurship and nurturing a culture of competitive collaboration. Our commitment is to offer students a dynamic platform where they can engage, network, and collaborate with professionals from diverse careers and backgrounds. We create an enriching environment for students to develop and launch their own startups, by leveraging our core curriculum, and providing access to passionate student leaders and Tuck professors.
DartUP’s flagship program, The Social Blueprint Challenge, takes students through the process of developing a socially impactful startup—all the way from the inception of a product to preparing a presentation to pitch to a panel of judges. Starting during the beginning of winter term, students form teams of 3-5 to work on their individual social entrepreneurship startups. Students are encouraged to apply, regardless of whether they are just beginning to formulate an idea or already have one in any stage of development.
DartUP’s in-depth curriculum of 5 workshops covers: An Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship, Identifying Problems, Design Thinking, The Social Lean Canvas Method, and Building a Final Product. All workshops are taught exclusively by Tuck professors, guest lecturers, and executive board members. Workshops are open to all participants in the Social Blueprint Challenge along with the rest of the undergraduate and graduate Dartmouth community. So make sure to bring your friends! Utilizing the information they’ve learned throughout the weekly workshops along with extensive guidance from executive board members, Tuck professors and the Magnuson Center, students will develop a pitch presentation over the course of the term which they will deliver to a panel of judges on pitch day.
The top team will be awarded $2,500 to invest in their social venture and gain entry into the quarterfinals of the Hult Challenge. The 1st place team will be awarded $2,500 dollars which will go towards funding their social venture, and the winning team will be automatically entered into the quarter finals of the Hult Challenge. The Hult Challenge is an annual competition where university students from around the world develop innovative solutions for global social issues, with the winning team receiving $1 million to bring their idea to life. All travel and hotel expenses for the winning team will be payed for by DartUP. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to win $1 million dollars while impacting the world through your social venture!
